FIFA released the New World Rankings on Thursday 22 December 2022, 14:30 after the completion of the FIFA World Cup 2022. As per the Latest FIFA Rankings, Brazil which lost its Quarter-Finals match has remained in the Top Spot. The winner of the FIFA World Cup Argentina has gained 64.5 points and climbed up one position to be placed at World No.2. The Runner up France climbed one position up reaching third place behind Brazil, and Argentina.

Belgium who left the world cup in the Group Stage itself has dropped to 4th position from the 2nd position. The biggest gainer in the latest FIFA rankings is the Morocco team, thanks to their successful run in the world cup up to the Semi-Finals. Morocco was up 11 places with a staggering 108.85 points addition taking them to World No.11 position.

Another big gainer is Croatia, climbing 5 positions and reaching 7th position from 12th position. This is due to their good performance in the tournament before losing the Semi-Final match to the winners of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Argentina.

Other Big Gainers due to their good performance in the world cup include Australia (27th, plus 11) and Cameroon (33rd, plus 10). Saudi Arabia (49th, plus 2), and Burkina Faso (50th, plus 4) have moved to the Top 50 list in the Latest FIFA Rankings. Saudi Arabia has beaten he world champ Argentina in their first group stage match.

Since December 21, there are seven teams that have risen by more than Ten places.

Gambia (126th, plus 24), Morocco (11th, plus 17), Costa Rica (32nd, plus 17), Cameroon (33rd, plus 17), Equatorial Guinea (98th, plus 16), Indonesia (151st, plus 13) and Cuba (168th, plus 11).

The biggest loser in the Latest FIFA Rankings is Denmark, and Canada due to their poor performance in the world cup. Both these teams are out of FIFA World Cup 2022 in the Group stage.  Denmark is the biggest loser in terms of points, dropping to 18th position from 10 positions. Canada has the biggest drop by places as it has now got 53rd position dropping from the 41st position.
