Argentina beat Poland 2-0, but both Argentina and Poland qualified for the Knockout Stage. Argentina with this win leading the Group C table with 6 points, and Poland with 4 points as runner-up based on the goal difference. Mexico has also got 4 points but going home as their goal difference is -1  as compared to Poland’s nil.

Argentina walked onto the field in a must-win situation, to qualify for the Knockout stage. They have shown their class, and determination to win in their decisive match against Poland. From the first minute, they are in continuous attack mode on to the Poland Goal Post. But thanks to excellent goalkeeping by their Goal Keeper, Argentina ended the match only with a 2-0 difference.

Argentina has 67% of the ball possession as compared to 24% of Poland. There were 25 attempts at goal as compared to Poland’s 4. This shows how the match was in full control of Argentina.  The first half was goalless. The penalty kick shoot by Messi was brilliantly saved by Poland Goal Keeper Szczezny.

Two goals were made by Argentina, in the second half. McAllister and Alvarez scored the goals in the 46 and 67 minutes. Argentina might have extended their lead but, a shot was saved brilliantly by Poland’s defender Kiwior.  If this goal was scored, then Poland might be on its way, as they reached Round 16 on the basis of goal difference.

Since 1986, this is the first time Poland qualified for the knockout stages, as they exited in the first round in 2002, 2006, and 2018 FIFA World Cups.

Both Poland and Argentina will play their Round 16 Match on Sunday 4th of December, 2022. Poland will meet France, and Argentina will play against Australia.

Day 12 FIFA World Cup 2022 Match Results Saudi Arabia vs Mexico

Mexico won their match against Saudi Arabia by 2-1. But they unfortunately not qualified to knockout, by virtue of goal difference. With this win, they have equal points with Poland, but got third place in Group C and are eliminated at the league stage. This is the first time Mexico was exited from the league stage, since 1994.

The first half was goalless with both teams failing to score. Mexico went into the lead in the 47th minute, with a goal made by Henry MARTIN.  The lead was consolidated by Luis CHAVEZ in the 52nd minute. Saudi Arabia reduced the lead by scoring their first goal in the second-half stoppage time by SALEM ALDAWSARI

A win is a must for Saudi Arabia to qualify for the knockout stage, but they are not able to achieve that.  Even though Saudi Arabia, leaving the FIFA World Cup 2022, they can keep their head high for their triumph over World No.3.

World No.2 Belgium is out of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Their match with Croatia ended with a goalless draw. Croatia is through to the Knockout Stage. The first half was dominated by Belgium, but unsuccessful in making the goal. Whereas the Second half was dominated by Croatia.

Belgium and Croatia have equally shared the ball possession each with 46%. Belgium has 15 attempts at the goal, whereas Croatia has 11 attempts. Romelu Lukaku of Belgium was introduced in the second half. He managed five attempts at the goal, but was unsuccessful in all his efforts.

Day 12 FIFA World Cup 2022 Match Results Canada vs Morocco

Morocco beat Canada 2-1 in the Group F match played at Al Thumama Stadium. With this win, Morocco topped the Group F table and entered the Knockout stage.  Canada lost all three matches and out of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Morocco came into the lead in the 4th minute with a goal from Hakim ZIYECH.  It is the fastest ever goal for Morocco in World Cup Matches. They made it 2-0  as Youssef EN NESYRI has done it for Morocco in the 23rd minute. Nayef Aguerd had made an own goal, which swung momentum in Canada’s favor. Canadas Atiba Hutchinson hit the bar in the second half, but the ball bounced down,  on the line, and back out. The goal was ruled out in the replay. Morocco survived, and well defended its lead.
