India beat Sri Lanka in the 1st ODI of the India vs Sri Lanka ODI Series to go up 1-0 in the Series. Virat Kohli has made a splendid century to help his team to pile up a massive score of 373 runs.

After losing the toss and being invited by Sri Lanka to bat first, Indian Top Order dominated the whole 50 overs match with their brilliant batting performance. With the help of a splendid century by Virat Kohli, India amassed a huge total of 373 runs in the 50 overs with the loss of 7 wickets.
India opened their innings with their captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. The Indian opener batted beautifully and has given a good foundation to make a huge score. Both Rohit, and Gill have played classic shots, especially Rohit was in great nick. The openers put together 143 runs, before Gill was out for 70 runs of 60 balls with 11 fours.
Then Virat Kohli joined with Rohit Sharma, and both together added 30 runs before Sharma was out for 83 runs in just 67 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Virat Kohli carried on the innings with Shreyas Iyer, together they put a partnership of 40 runs. Shreyas Iyer has scored the majority of the runs in the partnership, scoring 28 runs from 24 balls with 3 fours and 1 six.
Virat Kohli was the central pillar of the Indian Innings as he contributed partnerships with the other Batsmen. He and K L Rahul together have put 90 runs with K L Rahul scoring 39 runs in 29 balls with 4 fours and 1 six.
Virat Kohli carried forward the Indian innings to amass a huge total and reached his second consecutive ODI century. This is his 45th century overall in ODIs. India scored 373/7 in the stipulated 50 overs. This is Virat Kohli’s 9th century against Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has a huge task of scoring 378 runs in their allotted 50 overs. They need a good opening partnership but their opener Avishka Fernando fell cheaply for 5 runs, caught at mid-off in the bowling of Mohammed Siraj.
The other Opener Pathum Nissanka scored 72 runs but didn’t get good support from the other batsman. Late retaliation was made by the Sri Lankan Skipper Dasun Shanaka, but unable to make his team succeed in the chase. Shanaka has scored a super century, not out with 108 runs in 88 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes. Sri Lanka made 306/8 in 50 overs and lost the match by 67 runs.
